Germany
Altenbeken Viaduct
On a pretty dull day in the mid of January, I decided to take a short drive to Altenbeken. This small town owes its existence pretty much to the railway lines that branch from here. The railway viaduct is the most remarkable structure there.
Pillnitz Castle
On a nice summer evening I decided to go to the Kleinzschachwitz ferry landing and walk along the southern bank of the Elbe river where I knew was a good spot for a view of Pillnitz Castle which is most beautiful from the river side.
Semperoper
In the city of Dresden there are plenty of beautiful places, the Altstadt being the most famous. In the evening, I went to Theatre Square for some blue hour photographs of the buildings around that square.
Procession of Princes
I hadn’t been to Dresden for a couple of years, so it was definitely time for another visit. My first visits to the city had been back in the days when Germany was divided. It was on one visit with my family, that I saw the Fürstenzug (which is the German name for this mural) for the first time.
Pader River
May is often a nice time around here, and in this year there have been quite a few days with excellent weather. So I decided to take a little walk along the Pader towards Schloss Neuhaus.
Paderborn Cathedral
The Cathedral of Paderborn is a building that is featured quite often in my photos, being probably the most prominent building of the city where I live. In this week, an interesting group has visited the city and organized a couple of small events: the Stadtdenker – literally the city thinkers.
Abandoned Railway Bridge
The winter is gone, at least for now. On a beautiful day, I again drove my car south just a few kilometers to the village of Tudorf.
Snow on Graves
We have had some fresh snow. So I drove my car to a small valley some 25km south of Paderborn, the city where I live. There, in the “Valley of Peace”, is a small chapel, the Chapel of St. Meinolf with a small graveyard right next to it where members of the Mallinckrodt family rest.
