On a beautiful day in spring, I had the opportunity to visit the small Amerongen Castle in the Netherlands. This is one of the many nice places that our neighbour country has on offer. Thanks to my friends living close to Utrecht, I get to know at least some of these places. Kasteel Amerongen is also of some historical interest to Germans as our last monarch, Kaiser Wilhelm II, lived here for almost two years after his abdication in 1918.
